Donnerstag, 31.05.2007 Wieder in Kanada fuhren wir durch Vancouver hindurch und dann weiter Richtung Whistler. Zwischen Squamish und dem Skiort liegen ein paar Provinzparks, unter anderem Alice Lake und Garibaldi Provinzpark. Alice Lake hatten wir zwei Wochen früher als unseren letzten Camping-Standort ausgesucht und den Platz für zwei Nächte reserviert. Dieser Park ist ein echtes Juwel, verfügt über weitläufige Plätze und auch Duschen. Allerdings wie immer ist auch hier zu betonen, dass noch Vorsaison war.

Recovering from hiking
Alice Lake ist ein beliebtes Erholungsgebiet für Tagestouristen. Rund um den See gibt es Liegewiesen, Esstische und auch öffentliche Toiletten. Für Wanderfreudige gibt es den sogenannten Four Lakes Trail, der vom Alice Lake über Edith Lake und Fawn Lake zum Stump Lake führt. Reservationen und Informationen: BC Parks |

Alice Lake
Back in Canada, we drove through Vancouver and further towards Whistler. Between Squamish and the skiing resort of Whistler there are a few provincial parks. Among them are Alice Lake and Garibaldi Provincial Park. Two weeks before, we had chosen Alice Lake to be the location for our last two camping nights. So we had made a reservation. This park really is a gem. There are huge campsites and even hot showers. Although we like to point out that the season had not yet begun. Alice Lake is a popular day use area. Around the lake there are several greens, tables and also public restrooms. If you like hiking there is the so-called Four Lakes Trail that leeds from Alice Lake to Edit Lake and Fawn Lake, the fourth of them being Stump Lake. Reservations and information: BC Parks | |
